Here's part 2 of my style icons!
Kylie Jenner
Kylie Jenner has only recently been added to my list of style icons. I'm not a huge fan of Keeping Up with the Kardashians so I honestly didn't really know about her until a few years ago. I love her grungy style and the way that she effortlessly styles band/concert tees so fashionably.
Nothing feels better than wearing all black, to me at least. One of my things-to-buy is a good pair of black leather Chelsea Boots. I'm yet to find the perfect pair, but the one Kylie's wearing in this outfit are exactly what I'm looking for. I'm also leaning towards buying a leather jacket. They add a 'biker gang' look to any outfit and are incredibly versatile.
Everything about this outfit is perfect to me. I like how it's quite simple but still stylish and how she's only wearing black and white. I also really love the Balenciaga (I think, but who knows there's hundreds of remakes) boots that she's wearing, and her black hat and round sunnies.
I love the style/cut of the skirt Kylie's wearing in this photo, in-fact I have a denim one which I practically live in that was inspired by it! Another thing I really like is how you can see Kylie's socks peeking out at the top of her boots. I think it adds more interest and is a cute little detail that's so easy to add to most outfits. I'm not going to lie, I have a sock fetish. It's mainly because I hate feet, but socks can be pretty damn cute. Am I right ladies?
As I said at the top of this post, I absolutely love the way Kylie so effortlessly styles band tees. In this outfit she's wearing a 'Yeezus' top (Kanye West's latest album) and she's matched it with a pleated plaid skirt and black Chelsea Boots.
Behati Prinsloo
Behati, like Kylie Jenner, has only recently been added to my list of style icons. I absolutely adore her simple and flow-y style and her haircut is so basic but so chic at the same time!
Just like Alexa Chung, Behati has tied her jacket around her waist. The whole jacket/shirt tied around the waist is one of my favourite trends at the moment and I hope it stays. I'm also liking the loose fit of her top against her tight skinny jeans and the untied shoelaces. It may sound stupid, but I love the way untied shoelaces look. The can give an entire outfit more of a casual feel and it's absolutely great.
I honestly just really like everything about this outfit. I love the stripes, the layering of jackets, the hat, the shoes, even her hairstyle. It's all en pointe!
This outfit is so simple and classy and perfect for summer or spring when there's a slight breeze. I really like the loose, casual singlet she's wearing and the way it fits and her simple black sandals.
This ensemble is an absolute stunner. The way Behati has rolled up her jeans at the bottom is something that I find myself doing quite often. I feel like it just adds something more to an outfit. I also love the blue bandanna in her hair. I haven't found a good bandanna yet, but I'm planning to!
My little space on the internet where I blog about fashion, photography and anything else that tickles my fancy.

Style Icons: Part 1
Below are two of my style icons whom I look to for inspiration and fashion ideas. I've included four of my favourite outfits from each of them and written something short about what I love and why. This is only part one, so keep your eyes peeled for part two!
Alexa Chung is, without a doubt, an 'it' girl. She's a model, a writer/blogger, a style icon and a British socialite. I mean, this girl has everything! She can pull-off practically any look she goes for, whether it's preppy or grunge or girly and she really knows how to make her clothes work for her.
One of my favourite items in this outfit is Alexa's yellow coat. It's a statement piece that doesn't exactly scream at you, but rather just says 'hey, look at me. I really know how to pick coats well'. It also adds a 'pop' of colour to the otherwise plain outfit and well, it also does what a good coat is supposed to do, keep you warm.
This outfit is simple and classy and that's what I like about it. There isn't too much going on, which I think also adds to the charm. I love how the denim jacket looks with her black skinny jeans and plain white top. I'm a sucker for denim jackets. They match anything and are quite literally a saviour when it comes to my wardrobe.
This is by far one of my absolute favourite outfits. I love how she's tied the flannel shirt around her waist instead of wearing it normally. I've noticed a lot of people have been doing it lately, especially me. I think it adds more interest to the outfit and gives the whole look a grungier, more laid back vibe. I'm also loving the red lippy. Let's be honest, who doesn't love a good red lipstick? It makes you look fierce and ready to kill a man whilst also making you look sophisticated and smart and that's just what I need.
Miranda Kerr
Miranda Kerr is one of my biggest style icons, especially because she's also from Australia (although she's now living in New York *sigh*). She was the first Australian Victoria's Secret model and has been one of my role models since I was ten. She's an entrepenuer, a mother and a model. Being a mum is already hard as it is, how she manages to fit in modelling and being a businesswoman into her schedule is beyond me!
I love love love this outfit. If I could marry it, I would. The black, paneled, chiffon blouse looks sophisticated whilst not looking too formal and matches well with the same leopard print shoes that she was wearing in the outfit above. Another reason I adore this ensemble, is the black Givenchy handbag she's carrying. It's my absolute favourite handbag of all time. I mean, it's simple and classy, and it matches virtually everything!
I love this outfit mostly because it has so many layers. There's a shirt, then a button-down shirt, then a pair of stockings, then leather-look shorts, then an award-worthy coat and a pair of ankle boots. Oh, and it also features that Givenchy bag that I'm in-love with.
This is just an overall great outfit. It's so simple but it's accessorised to perfection with that statement bag and matching fedora hat. This outfit has inspired me to at least try to accessorise, and well.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Almost everyone as a child gets asked: "What do you want to be when you grow up?". My first memory of the ever-so-famous question was when I was seven. I remember my mum asking me what I wanted to do when I grew up and I remember telling her that I wanted to be a fashion designer or 'something to do with fashion'. When I was nine, I wanted to be an author. When I was ten, I had no clue what I wanted to do. When I was eleven, I wanted to be an architect. When I was twelve, I decided that I didn't want to be an architect, I just liked the idea of designing my own house. And now, I've come full circle. I'm back to being seven-years-old and wanting to do something in the fashion industry.
My mum had told me from a young age: "Pick a job that you'll like and that you're passionate about. Don't just do it for the money," and I honestly think that is the best advice anyone has ever given me. I don't want to be stuck waking up at 7 a.m. for the rest of my life, to do a job that I don't want to do, and hating myself for it. I don't want to end up with a minivan and a mortgage for a house that I don't like. I want to end up waking up at 7 a.m. to do a job that I enjoy so much it doesn't even feel like a job, and loving myself for it. I mean, we all die eventually. It's inevitable, and I don't want to die regretting what I did or didn't do.

Hello, my name is...
Hello, my name is Kat and I can officially say I've written and re-written this sentence about a million times. I hate introductions, nor am I good at them, so I'm just going to make this really quick. I live in Sydney, Australia, I have an unhealthy obsession over the TV series Supernatural, photography is one of my favourite hobbies, I have no ability to paint or draw whatsoever and I'm absolutely in-love with fashion and everything to do with it. My ultimate goal is for you guys to enjoy my posts and photos and to share in my experiences and travels. Actually, I lied. My ultimate goal is to be Alexa Chung, but we all that's not going to happen.
